Mockingjay Part 1 Book To Movie Review

Trying something a bit different, by reviewing books made into movies. I would love to compare the similarities, differences and which was better. ( In most cases, probably the book) Enjoy!

* this review will contain spoilers*

About the Book:
Mockingjay ( The Hunger Games #3) by: Suzanne Collins
Published: August 20, 2010 by Scholastic Press

I saw Mockingjay Part 1 in the theatre last weekend, which probably wasn't the best decision. The theatre was packed! Nevertheless, I did enjoy it a lot. Mockingjay has been the long-awaited conclusion to the Hunger Games series, about a teenage girl sent to fight to the death in a brutal game set up by her government. I will say that the book was very slow for me, so I had high expectations for the movie to be better.

The book and the movie were somewhat similar. All of the characters were kept in the movie, with the same plot of Peeta sending video messages to the rebels through the Capitol's control. The movie kept the new characters: Cressida, Castor and Pollux in the plot, and they were easy to read and follow as well. Jennifer Lawrence, once again portrayed Katniss in the best way possible, keeping her intelligence and wisdom throughout the movie and book. I loved how Gale and Finnick were very much main characters in the movie. (Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, need I say more?!) I wish there was more of Joanna Mason in both the movie and book. She was taken prisoner by the Capitol, but she was still one of my favourite characters. The main difference in the movie from the book, is that it was much more suspenseful. It didn't contain a lot of boring parts at all, which is what I did come across in the book.

I really thought that the movie was better than the book (gasp!) But in all seriousness, it was much easier to follow, much more entertaining and it had the right amount of suspense. I especially loved Jennifer Lawrence's rendition of " The Hanging Tree". She has a great singing voice! What I will warn you about this movie, is that there are a lot of "jumpy" parts. There will be a very quiet moment, and suddenly, something really loud will spring up. It was very shocking! Also, like the book, it can take a while for some rising action, however once you got to the middle of the movie, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen!

Overall, if you did not like this book that much, do not fret because the movie was very good! I would highly recommend it.

Anna and The French Kiss (Anna and The French Kiss #1) By: Stephanie Perkins

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance
Published: December  2, 2010 by Dutton Juvenile

I feel like I am the last blogger on this earth to have read this book. I have heard countless reviews on this book, but never got the chance to read it. Until a couple of weeks ago when I finally took the plunge and got it! I do understand why everyone loved this book, however it was not one of my favourites.

The book follows high school senior Anna Oliphant, and her struggles to adjust to life at a boarding school in Paris. There, she meets St. Clair, a student who is everything she could have ever wanted in a guy. However, he has friendzoned her. Anna and St.Clair's journey throughout the year leads to some surprising discoveries about themselves, and about their past lives.

Now to the positives of the book. I have a love-hate relationship with romance novels. Sometimes they can be really boring, and have no plot. This book was interesting. The book contained some plot twists, which kept it interesting. I loved the characters, especially St. Clair. He was such a gentlemen, and the way he treated his closest friends was adorable. I liked how the author kept up with a good plot, and how she didn't make things too focused on the romance. There was a bit of drama in the mix as well.

However, there were some things that I did not enjoy. The book, while containing some plot twists, was a bit predictable. I find this with most romance novels. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a happy ending, however it kind of ruins the purpose of the book if you know how it will all turn out. The book could be, at times, a little slow especially during the beginning. However, once I got to the middle of the book, it picked up and I actually quite enjoyed it.

Overall, this book is great if you love strictly romance novels. I would not say that you would find action and suspense in this book. However, everyone has their favourite genre of book. Not all books are for everyone. I did like this book. By the middle, it was quite enjoyable and I actually admired the way the author wrote the characters. They were great! However, I am always drawn to suspense and books that are a bit more unpredictable. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Where She Went (If I Stay #2) By Gayle Forman

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance, Contemporary

*If you have not read If I Stay, please do not read this review, as it may contain spoilers*.

Years have gone by after Mia Hall's tragic accident that left her an orphan. The story picks up when Adam, her ex-boyfriend, is living the rockstar dream. Selling out shows, and with a movie star girlfriend. Adam is lonely and tired. He frequently has panic attacks, and he struggles with addiction. Meanwhile, Mia is a classic music superstar, who graduated from Julliard. Both think that the other is doing fine without them, until fate brings them back together for one night. Told from Adam's point of view, Where She Went tells the story of two broken people, and their fight for their love.

I LOVED this book, perhaps even more than the first book. While If I Stay was about life and death, Where She Went was about finding yourself. While both books carried harsh topics, I found Where She Went to be much lighter than If I Stay. I thought that this book would have been very sad, as it picks up after Mia loses her family, however I was quite surprised to see that Mia was a very happy person. I admire her as a character so much.

One thing that I didn't like about the book was Adam, but only in the beginning. When I first started reading, I found his character to be very frustrating. He seemed very obnoxious and rude. However, once I got into the book, I could understand how hard Adam was suffering. I could see that he still had trouble letting go of the past. By the middle of the book, I was hooked on his character.

My favourite thing about this book was by far, Mia. She was so strong and powerful. I think that she may be one of my favourite female protagonists of all time. (Sorry Katniss and Tris.) Even though she had lost her entire family, she knew that they were with her and she didn't let grief take over her entirely. She also helped Adam with his own demons. I think that Mia saved Adam in this book, and for that, I thank her.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with this book. While still dramatic and sad, the story did have a happy ending. I was happy with how everything turned out. Adam and Mia were such strong characters. Bravo Gayle Forman! I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Shiver by: Maggie Stiefvater

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance

Shiver was a book that surprised me. The story follows a high-school student named Grace, who has spent years admiring a yellow-eyed wolf that appears near her house. Meanwhile Sam, a werewolf has spent years going to the yard of a girl who always admires him. Sam is too afraid of talking to the girl in human form. She would never understand. When Grace and Sam finally meet, a romance is sparked. However, Sam cannot remain human forever, and his wolf pack is on the verge of being killed off by Grace's town. Together, the two must go on a journey to save their love.

I very much enjoyed this book, which surprised me at first. I thought that this book would be like the werewolf version of Twilight, a book that I did not enjoy very much. I thought that it might not have a proper plot, or any interest to it. I was completely wrong. In this case, I'm very glad that I did not judge a book by it's cover.

The book had perfect amount of romance and adventure. The plot was interesting, and I loved the plot twists. Unlike other romance novels, this book contained a right amount of action. I loved the suspense, and even the mystery. I liked this book because it was versatile in genre.

I would definitely say that this book can even be read by people who do not like romance novels. It actually had suspense, plot twists and show much more! That being said, I did find that some parts were a bit confusing. There were a lot of twists and turns in the book, that I found myself having to go back to previous pages to find out what was going on. Still, it was very good.

Overall, I loved the book because of its content. The book was not a pointless romance novel, but it was also not an action-packed thriller. It was a bit confusing, but looking past that, I would say that the author did a great job in creating a captivating plot. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, because it crushed my stereotype of some romance novels being boring, however it was a bit hard to follow. Still though, I commend Maggie Stiefvater's work.

Matched by: Ally Condie (Matched Series Book: 1)

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Dystopia, Romance

Matched was a dystopian novel based on the power of choosing. This book reminded me of the book : The Giver, which I also did a review on, however this book is more romance-based. Cassia Reyes has never once questioned her Society's ways. When a girl and boy reaches a certain age, they are chosen a match, the person they are supposed to spend the rest of their life with. The Society chooses your spouse, your job and even when/how you die. Cassia always thought that this way, her town was so orderly. That it, until she is forced to choose for the first time in her life. At her matching ceremony, her best friend Xander is matched with her, however so is a man named Ky. The Society gives her the option to choose her spouse. However, how can she choose between her polite best friend, or the notorious outsider of her Society? Along the way, Cassia begins to learn the truth behind her not-so-orderly world.

This book was a good read. I always love a good dystopian novel, and this book was a different take on that concept. I liked how romance was the main focus of this novel, because my two favourite genres to read are romance and dystopia. The book was clever, interesting and provided me with great suspense, as to who Cassia would choose. That is, there are still two books in the series, so there are still questions left unanswered.

One thing that was disappointing about this book was it was very slow-moving. I don't like it when books can't get to the point. I felt as if there were a lot of pointless parts to the plot. Nothing interesting was happening. I understand that a book must have blocks in between suspense, however I feel as if some parts were irrelevant. I almost wanted to skip pages that I didn't find interesting. (which is serious for me, because I NEVER skip pages) However, the parts with suspense, were still great.

Overall, I would say that this book, though still being a bit boring, was a very good book. I liked the concept, the characters and the romance. I would have liked it to be still, more interesting at times. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Bittersweet by: Sarah Ockler

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance, Coming of Age

Bittersweet was a great book about following your dreams. Hudson, an aspiring figure skater has just found out that her father had been cheating on her mother. Devastated, her mother moves her and her brother to the small town of Watonka, New York. There, Hudson gives up skating to work as a cupcake baker in her mother's diner. She has shut her father out of her life. However, her life changes when she is offered to teach her high school's hockey team some techniques. She begins to love the ice again. Things aren't always better however. Love triangles, a nagging father and a struggling diner, makes Hudson wonder where she'll end up after high school.

I think this book was very well written, and it definitely had a great plot. I think that the story of Hudson, and her struggles with her future, are things that other people can relate too. While reading this book, it helped me realise that I should be doing more of what makes me happy, and not what anyone else wants me to do.

I loved the character of Hudson, because of how compassionate she was. She gave up everything for her broken family, and was very supportive of her mom. She is a great example of someone who cares about others. I think that her character can influence others to be more compassionate.

There is one thing that I did not like about this book, and that was the lack of suspense. Since it is a romance novel, I do understand that it should not have so much suspense, however I would have liked to have read more plot twists. The book was kind of predictable, which made it a bit boring. Having said that, the book was still very good.

I think this book was a great coming of age novel, about following your dreams. Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars, just because I would have wished it to be more unpredictable.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by: Jennifer E. Smith

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Romance

If I  could describe this book using one word it would be romantic. This is about a boy and a girl, who are brought together purely by fate. The book follows Hadley Sullivan, a teenage girl who is travelling to London for her father's wedding. It was supposed to be a terrible day, seeing as her dad is remarrying after breaking her mother's heart. Hadley's nerves of the big day, suddenly disappear when she meets a teenage boy travelling on the same flight. His name is Oliver, and the two are smitten with each other as soon as they meet. However, the chaos of the airport in Heathrow, splits them apart, and Hadley wonders if she'll ever see him again. Driven by fate, Hadley discovers that true love really does exist.

This was a good book. It was very charming book, and it really kept the theme of fate throughout the book. The story of a boy who it looking to be loved, and a girl who thinks that true love doesn't exist, really put me in the mindset that their love was meant to be. The characters were witty and adorable, and I was happy with the outcome of the story.

What I didn't like about this story, was that I thought it was a little bit safe. What I mean by this, is that there was no real plot twists in it. It was a basic story of boy and girl meet, get split up, but live happily ever after. It wasn't boring, it was just predictable.

This book was good, but not great. Like I said before, it was cute but overall a little too uninteresting for me. I like it when romance books contain twists, like you think that one thing it going to happen, and something different happens. I like authors who take risks. I did not get that with this book.

Overall, I would recommend this book if you are looking for a romance novel, although I would not say that it was an amazing and unique book. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. It just didn't do it for me.

The Truth About Forever by: Sarah Dessen

Genre: Young Adult, Coming of Age, Romance

The Truth About Forever is a heartwarming story about love, loss and the future. The story takes place during the summertime, where a teenage girl named Macy is trying to figure her life out. She is recovering from the sudden loss of her father, a bad breakup, and her future. Macy used to be a star runner, but she gave up everything, even a social life, after her father died. She starts a summer job at a library, where her co-workers torment her. However, her life changes when she meets Delia, a young mother with a catering company. Macy helps Delia and her struggling company, get back on track. She also meets new friends, and learns to be herself. For the first time in her life, she learns to live.

I really enjoyed this book. The book was a great coming of age novel, because of this young girl trying to come to terms with her life. She is not perfect, and she is struggling with who she wants to be. She also has to deal with sudden tragedy, and how to move on. I think that anyone going through loss of any kind, could relate to Macy, and benefit from this book.

I liked this book because even though it was dealing with tragedy, it wasn't too "heavy" of a novel. Anyone could relate to this book in their own way, and the beauty is that this book could help anyone. The book was kept humorous and interesting, and also included some romance, which I always like.

This book was a great summer novel because it was a motivation for teens struggling with the up coming year. Most teens could relate to Macy in the sense that she worries about college, summer jobs, etc. Throughout this book, readers can learn the lesson that even if times are tough, opportunities will come, and it is important to never give up.

Overall, this book was beautiful. I liked the lesson learned , and I loved the relatable characters. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Thirteen Reasons Why by: Jay Asher

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Contemporary, Mystery

Thirteen Reasons Why was an AMAZING book, however it has a very sad plot. The book is quite serious. The book follows Clay Jensen, and his journey through Hannah Baker's mysterious tapes. After the tapes mysteriously arrive at Clay's doorstep, he thinks someone might be playing a prank on him. Hannah is dead, she couldn't have sent these tapes. He listens to them anyways. Clay is taken on a journey through is town, uncovering the secrets of Hannah's death, and all who played a part in her devastating end.

This book was devastating, but is was incredible. I really love mystery novels, and this book was amazing at keeping that suspense. However, the book does have a very serious topic. I liked this book because it was honest. This book was very different than other YA fiction books I have read. The tragedy has already happened, it's what comes after that matters.

I liked reading a story from the perspective of someone after a person's death. Hannah's story might of been tragic, but I also found it amazing how her tapes affected so many people, especially Clay. This book reinforces the idea that words can hurt a person.

I liked this book because of the suspenseful plot. The book was constantly kept interesting, and it was definitely an addictive novel. That being said, the book is very sad, and is very sensitive. Then again, it was nice to change the topic of books I usually read. Sometimes you can't always read such bright, happy books. A serious book was different, but just as good.

The main thing that I loved about this book was the message. A story following a girl who was tormented her whole life, can be an eye-opener to many people. It can help people to watch what they say, and to simply be nice. I think this book can help there to be less hate in this world.

Overall, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, it was that good. Everything from the message, to the plot was captivating. However, I do warn you, you will cry when reading this.

Skinny by: Donna Cooner

Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Coming of Age

Ever Davies thinks she'll never be loved. After the death of her mother at a young age, Ever begins to eat her sadness. She gains over two hundred pounds. Her gorgeous blond stepsisters don't help with her confidence either. That is when Ever begins to hear Skinny, a little voice inside her head, telling her that she'll never be perfect. Skinny is like a heavy blanket over Ever's shoulders, and completely crushes her self-esteem.. Her once gorgeous singing voice, is now lost in a pit of sadness. Ever then makes a life-changing decision: undergo surgery to lose weight. With the support of her only friend Rat, Ever begins to shed pounds. But Skinny is always lurking, and Ever soon realises that fighting Skinny off, will not be easy.

I loved this book because of how truthful it was. This book was not about a girl who gets everything she wants, it was about a girl who had real struggles. I admired Ever because if how brave she was. Her character was strong, and kind-hearted. I had so much respect for her. Ever may have not been a real person, but her story touched me.

I also liked this book because of the message it gives. At any time in our lives, we may have low self-esteem. We may have a voice inside our head, telling us that we're not worth it. This book shows people that they are not alone. A lot of people could benefit from hearing Ever's story, as low self-esteem is a struggle that almost anyone has encountered.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt for a second, that they are not worth it. Just to hear Ever's words of wisdom showed me, and I think can show others, that they can overcome anything. I think that we will all get inner demons from time to time, and although they may be hard to shake off, we must realise that these voices are not real. They are, in fact, are own minds tricking us into thinking that others are talking bad about us.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, for it's words of encouragement, and for Ever's drive to make a positive impact in her life.

Birthmarked by: Caragh M. O'Brien

Genre: Young Adult Fiction,Adventure,Dystopia

Birthmarked tells the story of sixteen-year-old Gaia Stone, and her quest to find out the secrets of her parents' strange disappearance. In this post-apocalyptic world, the people are separated into two worlds. Those who live inside the walled town, or "The Enclave", are perfect. They work good jobs, wear nice clothes and are taken care of. Those who live outside The Enclave are the outcasts. These people are the ones with "imperfections". They are poor, and have to work very hard to make ends meet. Gaia lives outside The Enclave, because of a scar she has on her cheek. This scar means that Gaia and her family must not enter The Enclave. Gaia works as a midwife, delivering perfect babies to The Enclave, to be brought up by adopted parents. The babies are taken from their "imperfect" parents outside the wall, and brought inside the wall. If they do have "imperfections", they must live with their birth parents. Gaia finishes delivering a baby, but soon finds her parents to be missing. Another midwife tells her that her parents have been arrested by The Enclave, but that her mother left her a note. Gaia takes the note, and is soon entered into a quest to find the truth behind The Enclave's evil ways.

I really enjoyed this book. This book was suspenseful and interesting, with surprising twists. I love books with plot twists, and this was definitely one of them. The book really made me think. The clues that Gaia uncovers throughout the book, made me want to try to figure them out as well.

I liked this book because it was a different take on Dystopia. I have never read a dystopian book quite like this one before. The plot was unlike any other book I have ever read. It was different because it contained quite more mystery than most other dystopian books. This book wasn't only based on romance and adventure, but instead brought forth more clue-solving.  The only complaint I have about this book is that I wish it contained a bit more information. What I mean by this is, some parts were hard to understand, and in a book with a lot of clue-solving, I found that parts of the book were left with no explanation. I had to read parts over again because I didn't understand what was going on. However, it still was very good.

Overall, I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars, for a unique plot, but a few confusing parts.

Between Shades of Grey by: Ruta Sepetys

Genre: Young Adult Historical Fiction

Between Shades of Grey is a heartbreaking story of  bravery, sacrifice and suffering. The story takes place in Lithuania, 1941. Lina, a 15-year old girl with a passion for art, is preparing for art school. That is, until Soviet police rade her house, and take her family. Lina, her mother and her brother are separated from their father, and shipped on a train to Siberia. Her father, is sent to a prison camp elsewhere. The story follows Lina's fight for her family, her journey to find her father, and using her talent of drawing, to escape the Russian's grasp.

I loved this story. This is much different than books I usually read, (romance and adventure) however it was equally as brilliant. I liked this book because the author took a real-life event, and created a plot around it. Lina's story is both sad and beautiful at the same time, because this story represents true sacrifice. Lina's parents' sacrifices to protect the children, and Lina's sacrifices to find her father. This book was equally sad and extraordinary at the same time.

I will say that this book is very saddening. The theme is quite upsetting, and the book has quite a few sad parts to it. Although the book is not the most joyous, I will say that the ending is both happy and sad. There is defiantly and lighter side at the end.

I liked this book because it is unique. In a world where most YA fiction is dystopia or romance, it's fun to have a change. I have never read another historical fiction book as interesting as this one. I applaud the author for trying something different, in this trend of books.

Overall, this book was amazing for it's uniqueness. This book is not a history novel, it is history told in an amazing story of a heroine who is much more wise beyond her years. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I have no complaints.

*a note* off the topic of this book, I just wanted to add that I finally saw If I Stay earlier this week, and it was AMAZING! The movie was everything I wanted it to be like. If you haven't already, you should definitely go see it.

The Beginning of Everything By: Robyn Schneider

Genre: Young Adult, Romance, Tragedy, Comedy, Coming of Age

The Beginning of Everything has easily become one of my favourite books. One of my favourite youtubers, Ingrid Nilsen, recommended this book in one of her videos. She explained it to be funny, and heartwarming, with a good message. When I saw it in the book store, I decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint.

The book follows Ezra, a popular high school senior who tragically gets in a car accident, which shatters his leg. His social life is ruined, as nobody wants to be seen with "the boy with the cane". He finds a new crowd of debate club members, and befriends the new girl, Cassidy. Cassidy is unique and confident, and teaches Ezra to be himself and not to go with the "in crowd". They eventually fall in love, but when another tragedy strikes, Ezra begins to wonder who he really wants to be: the popular golden boy, or himself.

I really enjoyed this book, as it was a different take on tragedy. The book was witty and adorable, and was not at all depressing, despite the theme. This book is a great coming of age novel, because it is about a teen struggling with identity. I think that most teens would be able to relate to this book.

I liked this book because it was different. The book did not have a perfect ending, it had a realistic ending. The books theme's were relatable, and the book had great advice throughout. I also liked how the book was not predictable. There were many "plot twists" which I didn't expect at all. The book was kept interesting.

The author did a great job at capturing the message of this book, which was that everyone will get a personal tragedy, but it's all about how they respond to it. They could complain about it, or do something about it. This could change the outcome. Overall, I would rate this book 9.5 out of 10 stars, for it's beautiful message, and advice.

Paper Towns by: John Green

Genre: Young Adult Drama, Romance, Adventure, Mystery

Paper Towns is one of my all-time favourite books. The book follows Quentin, a high school senior who has a crush on a mysterious bad girl named Margo. One night, Margo whisks Quentin off on an adventure to get revenge on all of the people who have annoyed them both. The next morning, Quentin remembers all of the fun he had, however he notices that Margo is missing from school. She is still missing until graduation, so he and his friends go on a road trip to find her.

I can say that Paper Towns is one of my favourite books. I liked how this book did not just contain some romance, but also mystery and adventure. Once again, John Green has created a genius book.

This book has many different genres, so it can draw the attention of many different readers. The book is so versatile, and that is why I like it.

Overall, this book had many different elements to it. I liked the many different genres, so I didn't get bored. This book was filled with suspense, and I couldn't put it down. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, for it's versatility.

The Giver

Genre: Young Adult Dystopia, Sci-Fi

The Giver is about a boy named Jonas, who lives in a futuristic world. In this world, children are given a job at a certain age, based on their personality. They will have to work this job for their entire life. This world seems "perfect" however it is far from it. Jonas learnes this first-hand.

Jonas is assigned the job of Reciever of Memory. This is one of the most important jobs in the world. He goes everyday to The Giver, a wise man who each day gives Jonas memories of the past world. Jonas realizes that the world used to be a beautiful place, full of wonder. However that has now changed.

I really enjoyed this book. The book was very wise, and the story taught a lesson that in order to have good days, you must have bad days too. I think that Jonas was taught that good things can also become bad.

I like this book because of the lessons it teaches. I think that most young adults would benefit from this story's wise teachings. Most importantly, that bad times may come, but they will get better.

Jonas learned that his world was not as perfect as what he thought it was, but he did something about that. He went against anyone telling him otherwise. That is why I admire his character the most.

The book had a very interesting plot, and I enjoyed learning from The Giver. The book was not confusing with the teachings, and I think the author did a great job at capturing the emotion. Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, for the lessons.

If I Stay By: Gayle Forman

Genre: Young Adult Romance, drama

If I Stay is a book that I have wanted to read for a long time. The book follows Mia, an aspiring cello player, who's life is turned upside-down when she and her family get in a car crash. Her family is killed, and her soul  is left to choose between life or death.

At first I was reluctant to read this book. I don't like sad stories, and a book about death freaked me out. I have to say I was quite surprised. I found the story very emotional, but a bit confusing at first, however, as the book progressed, I could understand the feelings of Mia and the other characters. I also fell madly in love with Mia's boyfriend, Adam. I found Adam to be so caring towards Mia. They were so cute together!

Even though the book contained a lot of drama, I still found it to be a heartwarming story. The love between Mia and her family was unbreakable. Her protectiveness over her brother was very strong. Even the love between her and Adam was undeniable.

The story of life and death was very thought-provoking. I am not a very emotional person, but I did enjoy this book because of the romance between Mia and Adam. I am all about  a good love story. I think that the book is quite mature, because of the theme.

Gayle Forman did a great job at capturing the emotion, love and life throughout this book. A movie of this book will be coming out this month, however I recommend that people should read the book before seeing the movie. Overall, I thought that this book was quite emotionally-charged, because of the suspense created to see if Mia "stays". I think that you will like this book if you enjoy a dramatic novel. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
