Tbh, for me they happen out of the blue - not even when I'm reading sg I disliked or adored... sometimes I just lose motivation to read without anything happening, and just want to do something else.
Amazing post! :D Veronika @ Wordy and Whimsicalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06813427718618609226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717251772632628978.post-89950804787114657472016-09-23T08:44:48.812-04:002016-09-23T08:44:48.812-04:00Glad to see I'm not alone on this! It was very character-driven. paperbackprincesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07446601964387517150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717251772632628978.post-64781008298374619582016-09-23T03:30:04.664-04:002016-09-23T03:30:04.664-04:00You're not a weirdo, or if you're one, I&#...You're not a weirdo, or if you're one, I'm one too!!! :D We are practically twins, I ALWAYS go into a slump when I read a particularly amazing book too- not crappy ones. Crappy ones get me motivated to go find another better book usually, LOL. On another note, I'm glad you enjoyed The Truth about Forever. I didn't love it as much I'd have liked to, but it deal with some really important issues- and Rider was amazing!!!
Great post, Em! But then, when I stumble across the best of the best I'm like OH MY GOOOOOOD and can't get over it. Everything I read after it will always be a let down, so it's like I have to read something I KNOW I won't like so that I can be like 'see, I was right'. It's a shame that the books that make us love reading even more are the ones that can make reading more difficult.Charlottehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02068135640413650969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1717251772632628978.post-69057026618802907582016-09-21T17:42:06.421-04:002016-09-21T17:42:06.421-04:00I can definitely understand you! Everytime I finish a mindblowing TV series, I end up in a slump in which I can't watch anything else. I just want to re-watch the show again and again, because I don't think anything can top it.
I think there's really no way out of it: the only way is finding someone that is just as good! I think we just have to be patient that we will find another book or series that will capture our attention again!
I wish you all the luck!
