I've been to one of the events of a book festival, and I'd love to go to the Hay book festival, which is in a bookish town on the English/Welsh border (on the Welsh side though dammit! Lol.)<br /><br />I've been to local comic cons though with The Bestie, and always had a lot of fun - the hydration thing is an absolute MUST though!
